Glenfarclas 2008 - Whisky and Wisdom 2 - 59.8% - 30ml

This is a Glenfarclas selected by Andrew Derbridge, Director of SMWS in Australia and big Glenfarclas fan. His website Whisky and Wisdom is worth subscribing to for regular news and articles. This is the second edition. I was surprised as I bought a bottle in 2018 and drank it at a leisurely pace and there were still bottles available a year later so I bought this one. These days bottles massively inferior to this one sell out in minutes. So respect is due to Andrew because in the past it was a lot riskier to bring in single casks to Australia and it could take years to sell even the best casks. 

"This single cask bottling of Glenfarclas – a 1st fill, European oak, sherry hogshead – was hand selected by Whisky & Wisdom at the distillery after an afternoon spent sampling from numerous hogsheads and butts in the distillery’s warehouses.   It is Whisky & Wisdom’s second bespoke bottling of Glenfarclas.

The whisky is 10 years old and has been bottled at its natural cask-strength of 59.8%.  The cask yielded 319 bottles, bottled exclusively for Whisky & Wisdom and available only in Australia.  It comes packaged in a Glenfarclas timber presentation box."
