Black Flank Single Malt Whisky 42%ABV 30ml

Unfortunately this whisky has an ironic name - Future Proof whisky is no more. It was made by Deeds Brewery in Glen Iris. Deeds was one of my favourite breweries so I am curious to see how their whisky tastes. During Covid lockdowns I gained 10kg drinking their innovative, creative and tasty beers - some of their beers like the Peanut Butter Imperial Stout were like meals.

Black Flank Whisky is created from a single malt mash bill using Saison yeast which is then matured in a blend of bourbon and red wine barrels.

On the nose it has hints of caramel, fortified wine and vanilla aromas. Expect a taste of liquorice, grape, sherbet, orange slice and an orchid fruit. The whisky has a medium finish with crème brûlée and lemon tart notes.
