Dumbarton 21y/o 2000 Claxton's Warehouse No.1 Single Grain Scotch Whisky 58.6% 30ml

Dumbarton was a large single grain distillery complex that also had pot stills and produced a single malt called Inverleven. Dumbarton casks released now are often old and special casks that were saved as fine examples or left over casks reracked into better quality casks because the grain whisky comes from a dead distillery makes it more collectable and valuable. So the quality of these remaining casks are above average makes the tasting experience even more nostalgia inducing because the distillery was decommissioned in 1985 and soon there will be no more casks.

NOSE: Crème Brulee. Chartreuse. Poached pear.

PALATE: Icing sugar. Marzipan. Hint of grape juice.

FINISH: Big and sweet finish. Hints of oak and spice.
