Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition 46.5%ABV 30ml

Another celebrity tie-in but this one is unbeatable for me - for men and women of a certain age you either fancied or wanted to be (or both) Harrison Ford or at least the cool characters like Han Solo or Indiana Jones he portrayed. The whisky market in Europe has deflated and people are buying less whisky but this one sold out super fast. 

Matured in bourbon and toasted sweet Portuguese red wine this is sweet dessert whisky on the nose and palate with poached pears and plums, marmalade, cinnamon honey. The finish is long with leather and a slightly bitter oaky spicy finish. This is a NAS whisky but it appears to be a vatting of younger fruity sweet whisky and some much older casks which add some interesting layers to the finish. It is reminiscent of the Glenmorangie Milsean from 2015 but with some old whisky added to balance the sweet and sour of the Portuguese wine casks which are very candy cane sweet with a tart bitterness on the finish.
