Hermetica Whisky Distillers Cut Bourbon Cask 48%ABV 30ml

Double debut - the first whisky from Hermetica and the first bottle released by the new Australian whisky subscription service Barrel Lane. Hermetica is new branding from the gin and vodka maker Alchemy Distillers based in Healesville in the Yarra Valley in Victoria. 

From Barrel Lane website - "Matured for seven years in ex-bourbon casks, the distillery has created a 'distillers cut' exclusively for our members. Influenced by the diverse climates of the Yarra Valley and Dandenong, it unveils flavours of warm vanilla, toasted oak, caramelised brown sugar, and hints of honey and subtle spices. Created with 100% Australian barley and pure Yarra Valley rainwater, this whisky delivers a refined tasting experience.Tasting Notes: 

The distillery has just released two core range bottlings a Shiraz cask using local wine casks from the Yarra Valley and Bourbon cask whisky which are bottled at 41%. The Bourbon cask has already won 3 gold medals at ADSA before its official release which is pretty exceptional for a new whisky. The Barrel Lane Whisky is the same bourbon cask whisky but bottled at 48% instead of 41% so should be even better at the higher abv.
