Inchdairnie is a new Lowland distillery opened in 2015 that makes both single malt and rye whisky. This is a historic release: it is InchDairnie Distillery’s first-ever peated whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks.

OFFICIAL TASTING NOTES 

Nose: The first impression is unmistakably smoky – but not coastal, medicinal, or tarry. Instead, it’s scorched heather, smouldering fireplace, and wet bonfire logs, with a mineral edge that hints at chalk and flint. Beneath the smoke lies a surprising sweetness: caramelised banana, lemon drizzle, vanilla foam, and crisp green apple.

Palate: The palate opens with ashy smoke, black pepper, and smoked bacon, quickly followed by salted toffee and a wave of malt sweetness. There’s a savoury‑sweet interplay here that feels almost culinary – like charred citrus, sponge cake, and sourdough crust all woven together.
