"Matured for 11 years in an ex-Hogshead cask... This dram begins with a salty, savoury start: smoky bacon crisps, beef oxo cubes and bubbling hot cheesymite mousetraps. Laphroaig's signature dirty and medicinal character comes through with notes of old fashioned cough drops, diesel soaked tar and carbolic soap. The peat smoulders throughout, with a tone of burning of white sage and dukkah. Luscious and oily even at its high natural strength, the finish was described by Michael as tasting like "smoky mint chocolate".
