The inaugural release from Lochlea Distillery. Lochlea is based in the farm where Robbie Burns the national poet of Scotland lived and worked. The distillery is run by Malcolm Rennie who previously worked at Ardbeg, Bruichladdich and helped set up Kilchoman. This sold out in minutes and alot of hype has been built around the distillery - so I had to buy this at auction.

'Our First Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky was released on January 25. Coincidentally, that's the birthday of our renowned former tenant and 245 years since he moved to Lochlea.

Bottled at 46% ABV, the Single Malt Whisky was matured in first-fill bourbon and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. It is bottled naturally with no added colouring, and is non-chill filtered.
