NED Whisky Wanted Series 'Ingenuity' 46%ABV 30ml

The last edition in the Wanted Series from Ned Whisky NED makes a whisky that is great value blended grain whisky that is easy drinking and good for mixers. The Wanted Series is very different and is mostly young classy small batch single malts at a great price point, some are easy drinkers and some are quite complex and if tasted blind could easily be mistaken as an Aussie single malt 4 times more expensive. Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised by these and they are all sold out now. More recent NED batches seem to be leaning into more mainstream sweeter bourbon style whisky so these early small batch single malt whiskies might be just an anomaly.

TASTING NOTES

Ingenuity of NED has a fragrance of dried fruit, fresh oak and citrus. The taste is rich vanilla, toffee and sweet milk chocolate with silky tannin. It is a balanced mouthfeel with a subtle pepper spice finish.

Fresh oak, toffee and dried fruit. Citrus aroma adds complexity. Elegant and complex body to compliment drinking neat on ice. Ideal to pair with chocolate mousse, fruit tart or even a Christmas pudding.
