For their Select Cask series, Paul John in Goa has created a pair of malts finished in different sherry casks. This particular edition was allowed a period in Pedro Ximénez casks, so if you like the thought of dried fruits mixed in with some cakey notes, you should find plenty to like here - starting with the bouquet. Packed with dried peels, raisins, fruit slice and dark chocolate, the palate shares the same appealing bittersweet quality (it's not as sweet as you might anticipate). Fruit mince pie, tangy peels and ginger bread are the keynotes through to the cocoa-laced aftertaste.
I've actually been wanting to taste this so I can make up my mind to buy a bottle. When I found your site and saw it had this I immediately bought some tasting samples and absolutely loved it! Will definitely invest in a bottle
Heard for a while how good Littlemill’s can be. This SMWS 30yo certainly did not disappoint, the nose on this dram was amazing.
It was a flavour packed palete, that certainly stood out as such a fine whisky.
Thanks again Horny Pony for providing some banging drams, with a great service throughout
An absolutely amazing whisky, this Imperial 24yo was flavour heaven. Could see from the second it was poured into the Glencairn that it was something special.
Also the service provided by Horny Pony was brilliant, well recommended for anyone looking for trying some special whiskies.
Just wow. Gets better and better after about an hour, sweet, salty, dry finish and legs that take about a week to run down the glass. Mastery in a glass. Thank you HP for making it possible for me to try this dram.
