Saburomaru Junenmyo Rouge Japanese Peated Blended Whisky 46%ABV 30ml

Junenmyo Rouge is an annual release blend made up of Saburomaru peated single malt and Scottish grain whisky of 10000 bottles mostly for export. This blend is finished in red wine casks hence the name 'Rouge'. Saburomaru has 3 blend brands - their premium blend for the domestic market - Moon Glow (winner of World Whisky Awards Best Japanese Blend in 2018, now rebranded as Gyokuto (moon rabbit), Junenmyo - a blend for export and Sun Shine Whisky mostly a budget blend for the domestic market used for highballs. 

The single malts from Saburomaru are small batch and sell out fast - they appear to have copied the famous Ichiro's Malt Card Series -  a series of releases from the closed Hanyu distillery released by Ichiro Akuto of Chichibu - casks of whisky made by his grandfather that he rescued and were about to be disposed of when his father sold the distillery. The Saburomaru single malts are all tarot card themed- such as the Fool, the Magician, the High Priestess etc.
