Sandy Gray Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky 62.3%ABV 30ml

Sandy Gray is a distillery near Devonport in Tasmania - one to watch - they have been making award winning gin for a while, but they got a bigger still and ramped up whisky production in 2022 so soon there will be more great whisky available.

Official Tasting Notes - 

Aged in a French Oak barrel that has held Australian Tawny for the last 50 years.

This has been bottled at 62.3% ABV.

Barrels 9 and 10 are 20 litre French Oak casks which previously stored Australian Tawny at Renmano Wines. This is a first fill barrel. The whisky has been maturing for 3 years and 2 months. There are hints of toffee, creme brulee, vanilla bean. stewed apricot and old leather on the nose. The palate offers notes of butterscotch, caramel and honey.
