Scapa 16y/o 48%abv 30ml
Scapa 16y/o 48%abv 30ml
Many people were upset when Scapa discontinued Scapa 16y/o in 2016 - Scapa was mothballed between 1994 and 2005 with occasional distillation runs made just to keep the stills from falling into complete disrepair so there wasn't many 16y/o casks to keep the expression going. Scapa was bought by Pernod Ricard in 2005 and put the distillery back into full production. Last month Scapa launched a new 10y/o, 16y/o and 21y/o core expression. I used to enjoy the 16y/o but it upset me because I thought it would be awesome if it had had a higher abv than the 40% it was bottled at. Now the new core expressions are bottled at 48% and higher and with nice packaging and quite a hefty price tag. This is likely one of the first bottles to arrive in Australia as it was bought on the release day.
