Amazing sweet fruity smoky bacon delight. Looks quite dark and cask heavy but it isn't overpowered by the sherry cask. A tiny bit hot it might have benefited from 6 months or a year longer in the cask so the alcohol could be better integrated and reach legendary status, but maybe then it would have become too sherried and lost the bright peaty distillate notes - Anyway a tiny drop of water helps. This is a great dram and not one of the usual Indie secret Islay suspects - whispers are its a Lagavulin - usually rare as hens teeth there have been a few indie Lagas popping up recently - hope the trend continues.
In classic Australian style, this whisky has absolutely rippled flavour out of its cask. However, while I was expecting spiky youth in the spirit and the abv, it drinks with a maturity and ease that belies these facts. I have since bought two bottles. Absolutely delicious and as good, if not better, than it’s Scotch peers
