Springbank 5y/o 100° Proof 57.1%ABV 30ml

Latest Springbank release - matured 5 years in bourbon casks and bottled at 100 proof (not US 100 proof which is 50%). This is a unicorn - this may change soon if they release more bottles. Springbank fans/mugs like me still pay to try these bottles. This was bought from an auction - it is 100 dollars from the Distillery Shop but none have appeared in other stores yet so its about $300 to get one at auction then add shipping and taxes. Crazy indeed - delicious for a 5 year old though.

Nose

A bright and vibrant start to this dram, there are notes of green apples, gorse bush, wine gums, and a mineral note.

Palate

The palate is well balanced with a touch of peat smoke, and sweet notes of icing sugar and white chocolate. Notes of tomato plant, sunflower seeds and linseed oil develop.

Finish

The finish brings notes of honey and gooseberries.
