Ballechin 19y/o Madeira Casks#184&189 53.5%abv 15ml / 30ml

Ballechin is the peated expression from Edradour and has been produced since 2004. They laid down some special casks to investigate how the peated spirit would interact with Madeira, Burgundy and Manzanilla casks. They are releasing some of these casks now 19 to 20 years since they made their first run of peated spirit that was to be named Ballechin and they are all pretty exceptional. The 19y/o bottles are two of the oldest Ballechin whiskies ever released and if they continue to produce whisky of this standard at these higher age statements Ballechin is going to have a growing cult following. 

This small batch vatting of Ballechin matured for 19 years in two Madeira casks and bottled at cask strength. Exceptional Ballechin - salted caramel, peanut brittle, asphalt tar, smoked ham and apricot jam. Great oily mouthfeel with a very long finish.
