Here is an exciting teaser. 'The Maiden' is the first release of whisky from Stillmaker & Sons distillery. Located in the stunning Montville on the Blackall range overlooking the Sunshine Coast with a cooler microclimate. This was bottled by whisky legends Garth and Brendan at independent bottler Ambassador Whisky and was aged in a 20 litre port cask. The distillery's own whisky will arrive at a later date as it is still maturing in larger format casks which take more time to reach perfection. This is one of only 30 bottles so a rare treat for whisky fans to grab a sample and get a preview.

Stillmaker & Sons, The Maiden, port cask single malt whisky.

Fantastic first release from this new whisky distiller.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mike and Sandy a couple of years ago and being shown around their distillery. I was given a sneak preview of a couple of their whiskies (a port cask and a sherry cask) which were still quite young and had only been in the barrel for about twelve months. Despite their young age, they had developed some amazing flavours and were already exceptional whiskies. I have been eagerly waiting the release of their whisky ever since.
"The Maiden" is an indication of the great things to come. This is a beautiful whisky with all the sweetness and character you would expect from a port cask. I could try and describe it, but you should buy some and see for yourself.
