Dimple Springcap in a 'Scots' box bottled between 1957 and 1961 when screwcaps were introduced. Bottled at 70 proof (UK proof) which is 40%ABV. This blend mostly consists of Cameronbridge grain whisky (also known as Haig Distillery) and Linkwood and Glenkinchie single malts. Dimple and its distinctive bottle have been very popular at various period since the 1890's. Early 50's blends were higher ABV and was the preferred whisky of James Bond in the books. Late 50's Dimple like this bottle were slightly lower ABV and the whisky modified slightly for the rock and roll era when young people preferred whisky with refreshing mixers when dancing all night. This blend was often drunk with some ginger ale and ice. So put on some 50's Elvis or put your dancing shoes on and do the twist to Chubby Checker for an authentic 1960's vibe with Dimple and Canada Dry Ginger Ale or make a Whisky Sour for a more sophisticated Mad Men cocktail party vibe.

While Dimple was the best selling blend in the UK between the 1930's and 1950's it actually disappeared in the UK for many years although it was still popular in the US, Germany and South Korea. It has returned to the UK shelves recently thanks to the TV shows -  Breaking Bad where it was Walter Whites favourite drink (and final drink) and the retro Mad Men.
