Jura 27y/o Whisky Sponge Edition No.46 - 52.1% - 15ml / 30ml

This is a bottle of Jura bottled by the independent bottler and whisky satire website the Whisky Sponge. This whisky shows how good Jura can be when it isn't dumbed down, watered down and had a ton of caramel added.

The bottle label takes the piss out of Richard 'the nose' Patterson showing him as an Kraken glugging down caramel colouring. Patterson is whisky royalty as his grandfather and father were master blenders. Richard Patterson was the master blender for Whyte and Mackay blends and at Dalmore, Jura and Fettercairn distilleries and his nose was insured for 1.5 million pounds. He has worked in whisky since 1966 and has been a master blender for half a century. He has been a flamboyant dapper whisky ambassador too - travelling the world giving masterclasses and appearing in the media regularly. An amazing career in whisky but personally I can't stand the mainstream whisky he created and look forward to seeing some more interesting whiskies appearing from Dalmore and Jura in the next few years.
